About
About Me
I’m Hunar, a software engineer currently based in the Bay Area 🌉, working at Meta. My journey in tech has taken me through roles at Palantir Technologies, Oracle India, and Razorpay, and I’m a proud University of Colorado Boulder alum 🎓.
What drives me is the intersection of complex systems—whether that’s building scalable distributed systems 🏗️, understanding the nuances of concurrency and multithreading 🧵, or diving deep into machine learning architectures 🤖. I love getting into the weeds of how things work, from GPU computing and CUDA programming ⚡ to database optimization and system design patterns 🗄️.
Beyond the code, I’m fascinated by economics 📈 and international relations 🌍. You’ll often find me exploring monetary policy, market dynamics, and how technology is reshaping capitalism. I believe understanding these broader systems makes me a better engineer and thinker.
How I Think 🧩
I don’t settle for surface-level explanations—I dig until I truly understand the “why” and “how” behind things 🔍. Whether it’s a complex algorithm, an economic policy, or a system architecture, I build my understanding from first principles rather than memorizing facts. This means I’m comfortable diving into dense research papers, intricate algorithmic problems, and the kind of complexity that others might shy away from.
I connect dots across disciplines. Economics informs my tech decisions. Systems thinking applies everywhere—from distributed databases to international markets to human psychology 🌐. This cross-pollination of ideas is where the most interesting insights emerge.
Precision matters to me ✨. I value accuracy and will correct inaccuracies rather than let them slide. If something doesn’t make sense, I’ll ask clarifying questions and push back. I care deeply about the quality and architecture of systems, not just getting things to work.
My Approach 🎯
Professionally, I’m methodical and deliberate. I research companies deeply, understand the technical challenges they’re solving, and prepare thoroughly 📋. I’m drawn to opportunities that push me technically—cutting-edge distributed systems, novel architectures, problems at scale. I care about working on systems that matter and learning from the best.
I’m direct and efficient in communication—I cut to the chase 💬. I value clarity, thoroughness, and getting to the heart of the matter.
Beyond Work 🎮
When I’m not at my keyboard ⌨️, I’m probably playing chess ♟️, hitting the courts for racquet sports 🎾, or catching up on anime 📺. I’m always learning, always curious 🧠. Whether it’s neuroscience, psychology, or the latest research paper on attention mechanisms, I’m drawn to understanding how complex systems—technological, economic, or human—actually work under the hood.
This blog is where I share what I’m learning, building, and thinking about. Welcome along for the ride 🚀.
